Vodafone / HUAWEI K3520 USB modem firmware don't always want to install software automatically when this is inserted for the first time in a computer.

3g modem
This is a problem I've found on a computer loaded with Windows XP, SP3 (service pack three). After I've tried everything I've found that this happen when the "VGA_Intel_6.14.10.4926_XPx86" drive is installed. To solve this problem just un-install this drive, plug in the Huawei K3520 USB modem / router, install its software after which the mentioned drive could be reloaded again. The "VGA_Intel_6.14.10.4926_XPx86" drive can be download from your computer's manufacturer's website.

So how do you un-install this drive to install the Vodafone / Huawei K3520 USB modem, or any other software?

In Windows XP:
Click on the "start" button. On the list of applications you will find one that says "Control Panel", click on this one. Your control panel can take on two forms. It will either be set on "Classic View" or on "Category View". So how do I know on which my computer is set? Well if your computer is set on "Category View" your computer give you a few categories with the words: "Pick a Category" at the top of these categories. I my self prefer to work in "Classic View" which just list all the applications with icon. If your computer is set on "Category View" you will find a option to change this just left of the words "Pick a Category". Click there on the words "Switch to Classic View". Hopefully now all the readers who reads this is in "Classic View". In "Classic View" you will find a icon with the words "Add or Revov...", click on this icon. Now you will be given a list with all the software which are installed on your computer. If you want to remove the drive which is mentioned above to install your Vodafone / Huawei K3520 USB modem, click on "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver". Then click on the icon "Change/Remove". Just follow the on screen instructions from here. If you want to un-install any other software just click on that.

One more tip when using Vodafone Huawei K3520 USB modem in Windows XP

Vodafone 3g modem
You must always pluged your Huawei K3520 USB modem into the same USB port as the previos times you have used it. If you use a different port the software will open when you click on the Vodafone Mobile connect Icon and it will pick up a signal of your service provider, but it will have some dificulties when you ask it to conect.

One thing to remember before buying a Vodafone / Huawei K3520 USB modem

If you buy a Huawei K3520 USB modem at Vodacom in South Africa and at Vodafone in the rest of the world it is network block. That mean that you can't used it with a simcard of a other service provider.
